Review – It is great to have some good microbrewery options in Cookeville (at last)! It took awhile, mainly due to antiquated state laws. The beer at Red Silo is like no other. It is a unique flavor, and everything on tap is of excellent quality (which means infinitely better than Budweiser). As a matter of fact, don’t come in asking for a Bud, Miller or Coors — you’ll get what’s on the tap labeled “water”.
Their best beer (so far) is the P-Nit Butter Porter. This beer is to die for! Peanut butter taste! Smooth porter! Excellent! The Sassy Abbott is also an excellent, high gravity brew. They also have some good IPAs (Dadbod), and the Home Run Red is excellent in the Irish Red category. Overall, there are 20 beers on tap, so there is a flavor for everybody. Everything they serve is brewed on-site. They also make an excellent root beer and a variety of flavored creme sodas, in the non-alcoholic category. Join the “cup club” and you get a discount and your own cup.
There is no food served, other than free popcorn. But the Indian restaurant next door and World Foods down the street both deliver to Red Silo. A World Foods pizza goes GREAT with Red Silo beer!
